Baseball: Bethany places five on 2023 All-PAC Teams

TRAFFORD, Pa. – Five Bethany College baseball players were recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tuesday afternoon when the PAC released its postseason awards for the recently completed season.

Senior second baseman, Colton Stoneman (West Farmington, Ohio/Labrae Local) and junior outfielder, Nick Roell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton Lasalle) earned All-PAC Second Team honors.

Stoneman finished the season batting .412 while scoring 34 runs and driving in 23. His 66 hits ranked third all-time in a season for a Bison athlete and first in the PAC this season. He ranked fourth in the PAC for average (.412) and at bats (160). He had at least one hit in 31 games and reached base at least once in 33 games.

Roell finished the season ranked in the top-10 in the PAC in four offensive categories. He ranked fifth in batting average (.409) and hits (61), eighth in on-base percentage (.477), and ninth in runs scored (40).

Freshman catcher, CJ Owen (Austin, Texas/Elgin), junior designated hitter, Josh Speaker (Steubenville, Ohio/Indian Creek), and junior utility player, Alec Berg (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors.

Owen was a two-time PAC Rookie of the Week in the 2023 season. He finished batting .360 with 36 hits, 28 runs scored, and 26 RBIs. He had 12 doubles and a slugging percentage of .560.

Speaker hit .360 with 32 hits, 23 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He drew 11 walks and had a .436 on-base percentage. In the 9-6 win over Waynesburg he had a two RBI pinch hit in the bottom of the eighth to give the Bison the lead.

Primarily the Bison third basemen, Berg played multiple positions this season for the Bison. As a pitcher, he threw 34.2 innings in eight appearances and five starts. He earned two wins and struck out 22 batters. At the plate, he batted .281 with 25 hits, 23 RBIs, and 18 runs scored while drawing 17 walks.

Senior Jake McGlumphy (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) was named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
