Baseball: Three Bison earn Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Bethany College baseball seniors Colton Stoneman (West Farmington, Ohio/Labrae Local), Zach Nolf (Hubbard, Ohio/McDonald), and Kyle D'Angela (Thorold, ON. /Denis Morris) earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.

Stoneman, a second baseman and All-PAC Second Team selection, hit .412 in 39 games with 66 hits, 34 runs scored, and 23 RBIs. In 340 career at bats, he hit .350 with 119 hits, 58 runs scored, 55 RBIs, and 13 doubles. As a management major with a minor in entrepreneurship, he held a 3.66 GPA. He is a three-time PAC Academic Honor Roll designee and a member of the Bison football team.

Nolf, a pitcher and All-PAC honoree, made 19 appearances and one start this season. He pitched 39.1 innings with a 1-2 record and four saves. His career 12 saves are fourth all-time at Bethany College. As a psychology major, he posted a 3.86 GPA. He is a three-time PAC Academic Honor Roll designee and was an RA.

D'Angela, a pitcher, made 13 appearances and nine starts on the mound for the Bison. He threw 54.2 innings with a 2-3 record and recorded 40 strikeouts. As a managerial economics major, he held a 3.82 GPA and was a three-time PAC Academic Honor Roll designee. He was a member of both the Econ and ISA club.

It is the first Academic All-District selection for all three.

All-District honors are selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐ America® honorees will be announced in June.
