Men's Soccer Tabbed to Finish Sixth In PAC Preseason Poll

Greenville, Pa. – The Bethany College Men's Soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Poll announced Tuesday Afternoon.

The Grove City College men's soccer program was selected as the favorite this fall in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), according to the league's annual preseason coaches' poll. The results of this year's poll, voted on by the conference's 10 head coaches, were revealed with the PAC's Players to Watch List.

Among the PAC Players to Watch from Bethany is junior Ramio Veiga and sophomores Jahzino O'Garro, Adis Salihovic, Modou Faye and Rokeba Cordice.

Veiga appeared in seven matches and started three. Injuries prevented Veiga to compete at the top of his game. Coach Taal expects Veiga to be a key member of the Bison offense this season bringing both talent and experience to the young Bison team.

The Bison return three All-PAC honorees in 2021-22 season led by All-PAC First Team Modou Faye. Faye was a key contributor to the Bison offense last season, finishing the season with five goals and one assist.

Defenders O'Garro and Cordice return as key members of the defense, along with goal keeper Salihovic.

"Rokeba has all the attributes to be one of the best players in the conference" stated third head coach Frankie Taal. "We all look forward to his contribution and influence on the field."

"Jahzino was also a very important piece to our defense last season" added Taal. "He is not only great one versus one, but also very good going forward."

The Bison defense held opponents to just 14 goals last season and giving up 1.56 goals per game.

The Bison open their season at home on September 4 against Oberlin at 4 pm.
