Bethany's Reilly Parker Named ECAC South DIII Rookie of the Week

Oct. 14 – DANBURRY, Conn. – Bethany College freshman volleyball standout Reilly Parker (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Regional Rookie of the Week, announced the ECAC on Wednesday afternoon.

Parker was given her first Rookie of the Week nod after helping the Green & White to a 3-0 record against conference opponents last week. The Bison upended Thiel College, 3-1, before defeating both Chatham (3-0) and Saint Vincent (3-1).

During the week, Parker totaled 70 digs and eight service aces, averaging 23.3 digs and 2.6 aces per match. Her top performance came in a four-set win over Saint Vincent, as she totaled a career-high 32 digs in the victory. The performance marked her second 30+-dig outing of her young career.

Currently Parker, who has played and started in all 27 matches for the Bison this season, has tallied double-digit digs in every match. She has posted at least 20 digs on 14 separate occasions and currently leads the Presidents' Athletic Conference in both total digs (512) and aces (49).

Parker and the Bison will be back in action on Thursday, October 15, when they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. to take on Thomas More College. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
