Bison Volleyball's Dakota McKenzie Selected PAC Player of the Week

Sept. 8 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College volleyball junior outside hitter Dakota McKenzie was recently named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio/West Muskingum) earned the award after helping the Green & White post a 3-1 record against stout competition at the Purple Raider Classic last weekend. During the two-day tournament, the Bison earned sweeps over Denison University, Trine University, and #14 Mount Union.

During the four-match weekend, McKenzie led the Bison in both kills (46) and service aces (7) while hitting .164. Defensively, she also added 21 digs and 13 total blocks. Three times during the weekend, the outside hitter notched at least nine kills.

McKenzie's top performance during the weekend came in a three-set victory against the host Purple Raiders. During the match, she tallied 16 kills while hitting .267. She also added 4.0 total blocks in the win. For her efforts, she was named to the Purple Raider Classic's All-Tournament team.

McKenzie and the Bison will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 9, when they travel to Beaver Falls, Pa. to take on PAC foe Geneva College. The matchup is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
