Second Inning Surge Lifts Bison to Victory

Bethany, W. Va. - The Bethany College baseball team took on Penn State-Fayette in a non-conference contest Sunday afternoon at Bethany Park. The Bison used a second inning surge to roll past the Lions, 11-1.

Game Overview

Bethany rolled past Penn State-Fayette, 11-1  

PSU-Fayette scored first in the second inning. The Bison responded with an eight run second inning. Colton Stoneman singled driving in Stefan Blackstone and Kevin Pollock, to take a 2-1 lead. Moments later, an error by the shortstop allowed Michael Whiteherse to score. A Noah Rady double added another Bison run, extending the lead to, 4-1. A batter later, Ryan Anselmino drove in Kyle Goodwin. The Green and White tallied one home run on the day. Young went yard to continue the huge second inning. A Kevin Pollock double allowed Tyler Alworth to score the final run in the second inning.

In the seventh Whiteherse doubled to right field driving in Luke Beatty to take a 9-1 lead.

Alec Berg added another run in the eighth and moments later, Dezmond Franklin doubled to score pinch runner Reed Long.
