McClinton Breaks Two School Records
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The Bethany Bison traveled to Youngstown State University for the last chance invite. Caliyph McClinton bolstered his school record count to three total indoor records.
The Sophomore came home with two new Bethany College Records. He first broke his very own 60m record with a time of 6.95 seconds. That time placed McClinton #69 in the country among all DIII track and field athletes who have run the 60m race.
On top of cracking the top 100 in the 60m, McClinton scorched his way to another record. The Bison spent a brief period as 96th in the country in the 200m with his 22.11 second finish.
McClinton was the runner up in each event, respectably finishing behind DI competition from Youngstown.
A plethora of other Bison finished in the top 10 in both track and field events.
Dave Rene measured his personal best in the long jump. His 6.59m leap earned a fourth place finish.
Tsi Fofang made an appearance on the track. The most muscular sprinter finished with a 7.22 to place ninth.
Madison Donelson finished eighth in the 60m sprint. Her 8.332 qualifier was her personal best time. She ran an 8.40 in the finals, which didn't bump her out of the traditional medal group.
Trey Young picked up a ninth place finish in the 400m. He ran a season best 52.21 seconds.
Alexis Mahaffey had multiple top ten finishes. To no surprise, her highest place was in her best event- the weight throw. Mahaffey finished fourth with a 15.18m throw. However, she threw a personal record toss of 11.18m in the shot put, earning her a seventh place finish.
The Bison will get one more tuneup before the Presidents Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. They will travel to Muskingum for their second Muskie Meet of the season Friday.
