Mahaffey Earns PAC Field AOW

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Alexis Mahaffey has been named the Presidents Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week after her record breaking hammer throw during the Bison Classic Sunday.

It was Bethany's senior day, so it was only fitting that Mahaffey had her finest throw of the season. Her official distance was 50.47 meters (165-7 in non-metric system units). 

Mahaffey moved into the national rankings with the 25th best mark in the country. Her 50-ball leads both the PAC and the Mid-Atlantic Region. 

The senior joins sophomore teammate Caliyph McClinton on the Presidents Athletic Conference awards list this week. It has been the first time in indoor or outdoor that the pair have graced the awards list simultaneously.

Head Coach Jordan Johnson made it clear that both award winners display exactly what it takes to perform at a high level.

"Caliyph and Alexis exemplify professionalism in every aspect of their performance. As we navigate this lengthy season, they have demonstrated a profound understanding of the journey towards becoming exceptional athletes. This team is truly remarkable, and we consistently allow our results to reflect our hard work and dedication."

The Bison will compete at the Otterbein Twilight Invite this Friday. Both the men's and women's teams will travel and compete.
