Men's Basketball: Bison Fall in Season Opener

Cincinnati, Ohio – Bethany College men's basketball team faced Mount St. Joseph to open up the 2021 season at the Lauren Hill Tip-off Tournament Saturday evening. The Lions downed the Bison 85-43.

GAME FLOW

  • After trailing 10-0, Brendan Riggs was fouled on a three to put Riggs at the charity stripe for three shots. He made 2-of-3 to give Bethany their first points of the season.
  • A Derek White Jr. scored the Bison's first field-goal of the night.
  • At the under 12 minute media timeout, the Bison trailed 15-4.
  • The Lions held a commanding 36-12 lead at the half.
  • Coming out of the break, the Bison scored in their first possession; Trent Uphold scored on an open layup from a White Jr. pass.
  • After the Bison scoring 11 points, the Lions went on an 18-3 run before Bethany found the basket again.
  • The Lions cruised in a 85-43 win over the Bison.
