Softball: Wise Earns PAC Pitcher of the Week

Bethany, W.Va – Bethany College sophomore pitcher Josie Wise was named PAC Pitcher of the Week announced by the league office Monday afternoon, for her performance last week.

Wise was 3-0 in three starts (5 appearances) with a 1.35 ERA last week. She struck out 31 batters and walked three in a combined 26.0 innings. Wise tossed a two-hit shutout in Wednesday's 9-0 9 (5 inn.) game one win at Bethany… She struck out eight in the win.

The Canton, Ohio native picked up a complete game win in Friday's 3-2 game one victory over Franciscan, allowing two runs (2 earned) on seven hits with 10 strikeouts. She registered a two-hit shutout in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Thiel. Wise had six strikeouts.

She is 13-4 this season with a 1.90 ERA. Wise has a league-leading 140 strikeouts. She ranks seventh all-time in on Bethany's career strikeout list with 266 career strikeouts.

The weekly laurel is her second of the season.

Bethany is scheduled to play Saint Vincent on Wednesday, April 27 at 3:30 pm for a PAC doubleheader in Latrobe, Pa.
