Bethany's Duthie Tabbed ECAC Division III South Region Rookie of the Week

Jan. 19 – DANBURY, Conn. – After a breakout week which helped the Bethany women's basketball team to a split in a pair of conference games, freshman guard Ashley Duthie (Madison, Ohio/Madison) has been named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Regional Rookie of the Week, announced the ECAC on Tuesday evening.

The award marked the first of Duthie's career, also becoming the first Bison during the 2015-16 season to be honored by the ECAC.

The freshman guard totaled double-digit scoring in both outings last week, including dropping a career-high 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting against Washington & Jefferson. Previously, in a win over Westminster, she filled the stat sheet, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.

Having scored in double-digits just once on the year, Duthie averaged 13 points per game to go along with four rebounds and three assists in two contests. She ended the week shooting 60 percent from the floor, missing just one shot from inside three-point range.

Duthie and the Bison will be back in action on Wednesday, January 20, as they play host to Grove City College. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
