Bison Women’s Hoops Picked Fifth in PAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Nov. 5 – GREENVILLE, Pa. –The Bethany College women's basketball team was selected fifth, earning 57 points in this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced the conference office on Thursday.

Thomas More was picked as the preseason favorite, collecting nine first place votes for 99 points. Saint Vincent College was picked second, totaling 89 points and securing the final first-place vote.

Washington & Jefferson College was selected third with 80 points and Waynesburg University earned fourth with 69 points.

After Bethany, sixth place belonged to Grove City (56 pts). Westminster, Thiel, Chatham, and Geneva College rounded out the last four.

Along with the coaches' poll, a list of players to watch was released with three Bison earning recognition. Sophomore Kelsea Daughtery (Newport, Ohio/Frontier), junior Hayley Holenka (Shadyside, Ohio/Shadyside), and senior Mikyla Tipton (Wellsville, Ohio/Wellsvile) all received recognition.

Bethany will open its season with a home contest on Wednesday, November 18 against Franciscan University at 6:00 p.m.
