Women's tennis falls to Geneva in season-opening match

BETHANY, W.Va. (Aug. 30) - The Bethany College women's tennis team opened the 2017 season with a 9-0 loss to Geneva in each team's season opening match.
THE MATCHUP
- Final: Geneva 9, Bethany 0 (Final Results)
- Records: Bethany 0-1, Geneva 1-0 (Match did not count towards PAC records)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Tornadoes claimed all three doubles matchups to race out to a 3-0 lead in the match.
- Geneva completed the win over the Bison by claiming all six singles positions in straight sets.
MATCH NOTES
- Bethany Head Coach Brad Jones made his debut as the new head coach of the Bison tennis programs.
- Juniors Kristin Schafbuch (Marpingen, Germany / Arnold Janssen) and Fran Capaldi (Steubenville, Ohio / Catholic Central) won games in each set of their matches.
UP NEXT
- The Bison will host Saint Vincent in a PAC match on Tuesday, September 5 at the Ewing Tennis Courts.
