Football: Bison Toppled by Titans
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College football team closed out non-conference play against the Westminster Titans Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field. The Titans cruised to a 42-3 victory over the Bison.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bison reached the scoreboard first after a seven play, 32-yard opening drive. John McArdle hit a 60-yard field goal to put the Green and White ahead 3-0 with 9:27 to go in the first half.
- Westminster responded and never looked back. The Titans scored in just four plays to take a 7-3 lead.
- Bethany struggled to hold off Westminster after scoring the first drive of the game. The Titans added another seven points to take a 14-3 lead after one quarter of play.
- In the second quarter, the Titans added 14 points to take a 28-3 lead into the halftime break.
- The Bison were able to slow the Titans down in the second half, but couldn't get in a rhythm to find the end-zone.
BY THE NUMBERS
- (154) – The Bison were held to 154 total yards.
- (261) – Tre Dean punted for a total of 261 yards on eight punts with 32.6 yards per punt. He had one touchback.
- (1) – Tsi Fofang forced and recovered one fumble for the Bison's only takeaway from today's game. Last week the Bison forced five turnovers.
- (105) – The Bison had 105 penalty yards off of eight penalties.

Bethany will head into the bye week 1-1 and will prepare for their road trip to Washington, Pa. to open PAC conference play against Washington & Jefferson on Sept. 24. Kick-off is set for 6 pm.
