
Football: Bethany finishes season at Saint Vincent
LATROBE, Pa. – The Bethany College football team closed out the 2022 regular season on the road against Saint Vincent College on Chuck Noll Field Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats cruised to a 36-7 victory over the Bison.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bearcats were first on the board after an eight plays, 60-yard drive with 10:59 left to go in the first quarter.
- With 4:09 left in the first quarter, Saint Vincent scored on a 90-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 14-0.
- In the second quarter, the Bearcats used a three play, 29-yard drive to extend the lead to 21-0.
- The Bison were able to get on the scoreboard before half, when Tim Mickens caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Marquice Robinson with 19 seconds left in the half.
- In the third, the Bearcats scored on a safety and a five-yard run, expanding the lead to 30-7.
- The Bearcats would score once again in the fourth quarter, taking a 36-7 lead.
BY THE NUMBERS
- (190) – The Bison totaled 190 yards of offense compared to the Bearcats' 517 yards of offense.
- (3) – The Green and White had three interceptions, led by Isaiah Thomas who had a 46-yard interception return. Dadrick Vickers and Shawn Wheeler added an interception apiece.
- (7) – The Bison punted seven times for 236 yards. Landon Bailey averaged 33.7 yards per punt with two inside the 20.
LEADERS
- Marquice Robinson threw for 56 yards and had one touchdown.
- Tre'Jour Owens rushed for 43 yards on 10 attempts.
- Jahiem Hodo added 31 yards rushing on six attempts.
- Deon Parker led the Bison with 80 yards receiving.
- Defensively, Tsi Fofang led the Bison with eight tackles (seven solo) with one sack and 3.5 yards for loss. He forced one fumble.
