MLAX: Britton Sparks Home Win
The Bethany College men's lacrosse remained unbeaten at home as the Bison recorded the 13-5 non-conference victory Wednesday over Hiram at Bison Stadium.
Senior Tyler Britton led the way with eight points, five goals, and three assists, while senior Cameron Russo finished with two goals and four assists.
Sophomore Ethyn Taylor tabulated three goals and one assist to aid in the offensive output.
Bethany took control of the game by scoring all five goals of the second period to snap a 2-2 tie and take the lead into the locker room. As momentum slowly began to swing the Terriers way as they controlled the third period, Britton simply took over.
He assisted on a goal with four seconds remaining in the third period to prevent the Bison from going scoreless in the 15-minute segment. Britton assisted on freshman Chance Funari's goal less than into the fourth period, and then he decided it was time to simply score with three consecutive goals – the first two were unassisted.
Goalkeeper Christian Nestor (2-4) registered 11 saves on 16 shots.
