
MLAX: Huge Fourth Quarter Lifts Bison
GREENVILLE, Pa. - Senior Tyler Britton tallied eight points to lead the Bethany College men's lacrosse team to its third consecutive victory, scoring nine fourth-quarter goals in posting the 21-16 Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over Thiel Saturday.
Five different Bison scored in the game-deciding final period as Bethany opened the period scoring five of the first six goals to break a tied contest. In the run, BC scored four consecutive markers for its largest lead of the game. After Thiel snapped the four-goal stretch, Bethany put the game away by scoring four of the next five goals.
Bethany scored four of the first five goals and led by a goal following a late goal by Cameron Russo. The lead extended the lead to three goals, but the Tomcats finished the half with three straight goals to force a tie at the break.
Both teams tallied four goals in the third period and entered the final period tied.
Britton led the team with six goals and two assists, while Russo added four assists and three goals. Ruddy Sampson scored four goals and one assist as three goals Bison finished with multiple goals.
Ethyn Taylor had three goals with three assists, Zach Tuley had two goals and two assists, and Justice Smith scored twice.
Christian Nestor recorded seven saves on 23 shots.
Bethany (5-5 overall, 1-1 PAC) returns to Bison Stadium 4:30 Wednesday, hosting Westminster.
