Bison track & field teams compete at Amy Adams Memorial Invite

NEW CONCORD, Ohio (March 24) - The Bethany College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams sent a partial roster to the Muskingum Amy Adams Memorial Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) established a new outdoor personal-record in the triple jump with a mark of 13.84 meters (45 feet, five inches). That distance currently ranks seventh in Division III this season. Sallah-Mohammed also turned in a third place distance in the long jump with a leap of 6.46 meters (21 feet, 2.5 inches).

The women's team was led by senior Elizabeth Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal), who posted identical 16th-place times in both the 800- and 1500-meter runs. She crossed the tape at two minutes, 36.31 seconds in the 800 and finished the 1500 in five minutes, 24.23 seconds.

Also on the track, junior Alexander Michanlenko (Moon Twp., Pa./OLSH) claimed a third-place finish in the steeplechase with a final time of seven minutes, 29.81 seconds.

Junior Matt Dunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) paced the men's throwers at Muskingum. He finished ninth in the javelin with a mark of 40.42 meters (132 feet, seven inches).

The Bison return home next Saturday, March 31 when they host the annual Bethany Invitational at Bison Stadium.
