Men's track & field competes at Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio (April 7) - The Bethany College men's track & field team had a strong showing at the snowy University of Mount Union's John Homon Invitational Saturday afternoon.

On the track, senior Ed Maxwell (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) placed third in 400-meter hurdles with a season-best and conference-leading time of 57.20 seconds.

Junior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of one minute 59.48 seconds.

In the field, freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison) established a mark of 6.10 meters (20 feet, 0.25 inches) in the long jump to finish fifth overall, while senior Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) placed ninth in the shot put with a distance of 13.43 meters (44 feet, 0.75 inches).

The 4x100-meter relay team of Speedy, sophomore Hunter Klein (Leonardstown, Md./Leonardstown), senior Lee Sanders (Waldorf, Md./McDonough), and junior Malik Ellis (Richmond, Va./Life Christian Academy) finished fourth with a time of 45 seconds flat.

The Bison men will be back in competition next Saturday, April 14 when they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to take part in the Westminster Invitational.
