Bison Offense Booms in Game Two

Bison Offense Booms in Game Two

BETHANY – The Bison hosted an away game, as Thiel College's field suffered from the recent weather. In fact, Bethany hosted two home games. They split with the Thiel Tomcats, putting on an offensive clinic in game two.

Game one was not Bethany's game. In their defense, they didn't play badly by any means. Thiel pitcher Becca Landis threw a gem of a game, stifling the offense. Mackenzie Herman took two pitches deep, but they weren't bad spots. The catcher simply turned on two inside fastballs.

The Bison were able to put some pressure in the seventh inning. With runners at the corners, Amber Dedmon poked a single up the middle for Bethany's only RBI. There were multiple runners on base with one out, but the Bison were unable to make something happen with their opportunities.

Game two was an explosion for both teams on offense. There were a combined 28 hits between the two teams. Bethany had an extra 10 free passes with eight walks and two batters hit by pitch.

The Bison hit throughout a full seven innings, scoring in every inning apart from the sixth. They made up for it with their final at-bat. The lineup combined for seven runs on seven hits.

Highlighting a few players in this offensive boom is tough, but here are some standout performances:

Bella Juozapaitis had an electric game. She went 4-4 with four RBI, four runs, two stolen bases, and a walk. She hit her first home run as a Bison. The ball got out over the left field fence in a hurry. Jouzapaitis also had an RBI double down the left field line.

Morgan Huey went 3-5 with three RBI and a pair of doubles. She also collected two stolen bases and a run.

Haley Eyler posted a similar line going 2-4 with a pair of doubles, three RBI, a walk, and a run.

Dedmon continued her fantastic day with another multi-hit game. She went 2-3 with two walks. Dedmon produced five runs, pushing in three RBI and scored two runs.

Out of the 10 runs Thiel scored, only five were earned. Wise ended up picking up the win, improving her record to 11-1. Through five innings she struck out six batters.

Bethany will travel to Westminster for another PAC doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
