LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 21) - The Bethany College women's basketball team's season concluded with a 68-44 loss at Saint Vincent Wednesday night in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Quarterfinals at the Carey Center.

The Bison, seeded sixth, close the season at 12-15 overall and finish with consecutive 12-win seasons for the first-time since 2013. Meanwhile, the Bearcats, seeded third, improve to 18-8 overall and advance to the PAC Semifinals, where they will take on No. 2 seed W&J.

Senior Kelsea Daugherty (Newport, Ohio/Frontier) closed out one of the most prolific careers in Bethany history with a game-high 15 points and five rebounds in the loss. She wraps up her career third all-time with 1,731 points and second all-time with 968 rebounds. Daugherty is also one of only two players in school history with 1,500 points and 900 rebounds, joining former Bison Kelley Richardson (2000-04).

Saint Vincent opened up a nine-point lead, 13-4, with 3:44 left in the first quarter, before settling on a 15-7 advantage heading into the second quarter. Bethany climbed to within four, 15-11, with the help of layups by freshman Haylie Glass (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) and junior Ashley Duthie (Madison, Ohio/Madison) at the 8:05-mark of the second quarter. The Bison did not get any closer after six-unanswered points by the Bearcats allowed them to rebuild their lead to double-digits at 21-11 with 4:44 left in the first half. Glass would connect on two more baskets in the final two minutes of the quarter to send Bethany into the locker rooms trailing 25-17.

The Bearcats established control of the game in the third quarter. Saint Vincent out-scored Bethany 22-to-11 and established a 19-point lead at 47-28 heading into the final stanza. The Bearcats continued to build on their lead in the fourth quarter to eliminate the Bison from the PAC Tournament.

Maria Morgan led Saint Vincent with 13 points in the win.

The Bison have posted back-to-back double-digit win totals under second-year Head Coach Brian Sansom and won their first PAC Championship Tournament game since 2012 when they defeated Geneva this past Monday night.
