Volleyball: Bethany Drops Five Set Thriller to W&J
Washington, Pa. – The Bethany College volleyball team battled with Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a five set thriller inside Salvitti Family Gymnasium Thursday evening. The Presidents climbed back defeating the Bison, 3-2.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bison and Presidents battled from the first serve until the final serve
- Bethany pulled out a 35-33 win in the first set and took set two 25-21
- The Presidents gained momentum in the third set earning a 25-23 victory
- In the fourth set, the Bison led for majority of the set. Unfortunatly, the Presidents scrapped back taking a 29-27 win
- The final set belonged to the Presidents from the first point. Bethany kept battling to knot the match at 11-11, but were unable to regain a lead and take the match from the Presidents.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Senior Brooke Corley had a match high 36 digs
- Alaina Torres gave the Bison 53 assists with nine digs and six kills
- Riley Felton led the Bison with a team-high 16 kills and had two solo blocks
- Along with Corley's 36 digs, three other Bison had double-digit digs, Sydney Kirker (16), Olivia Koehler (15) and Asia Crim (13)
- Emma Marthins and Jess Moore each added double-digit kills (Marthins 14 and Moore 10)

Bethany returns to action on Saturday October 23 when they host the Grove City Wolverines in a PAC match inside Hummel Field House at 1 pm.
