Bison cross country teams open season at Muskingum Relays

NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 1) – The Bethany College cross country teams opened its 2017 season at the Muskingum Relays Friday evening. The men finished second at the event, while the women claimed third overall in the team standings.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

  • The Bison men were led paced by junior Jordan Castro (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua), who finished the course in 22 minutes, 8.32 seconds to take third place.
  • Senior Donald Bierhals (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) was right behind Castro, placing fourth with a final time of 22 minutes, 17.03 seconds, while senior Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) also turned in a top-10 effort with a time of 22 minutes, 45.69 seconds to claim 9th overall.
  • The Bethany women were led by a pair of top-12 times from senior Michaela Ross Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) and sophomore Sammy Seymour (Dover, N.H./Dover).
  • Ross led the Bison with a 10th place finish, clocking in at 18 minutes, 28.31 seconds.
  • Seymour completed the four-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 55.30 seconds to claim 12th place overall at the event.
