Men's Tennis tabbed fourth in preseason poll

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 9) – The Bethany College men's tennis team was picked to finish fourth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday afternoon by the league office.
Grove City, who has won 26-straight PAC Men's Tennis Championship team titles, earned seven first-place votes and was selected as the favorite to claim the 2017 championship. Saint Vincent, last year's runner-up, earned the final two first-place votes and were picked to finish second. Washington & Jefferson, Bethany and Thomas More completed the top-five in the poll, while Westminster, Waynesburg, Geneva and Thiel rounded out the poll.
The Bison are coming off of a third-place finish at the 2016 PAC Championships following a season in which they went 6-2 against league opponents, 10-3 overall.
The sophomore duo of Drake Berlin (Washington Court House, Ohio/Washington Court House) and Rhone Thrash (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg South) were named the PAC Men's Tennis Players to Watch list.
The 2017 PAC Men's Tennis Championships are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, April 28-29 at the Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. Matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day.
