
Baseball: Knights' offense too much for Bison
AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Bethany College baseball team dropped their fourth straight matchup Monday morning. The Bison fell 17-6 to Calvin at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Calvin jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings.
- Bethany was able to get on the board after Derek Black drove in Izek Baldwin. A few batters later, Payton Zupko hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Black. The Bison trailed 6-2 heading into the bottom of the third.
- Calvin added eight runs over the next three innings, taking a 15-2 lead.
- The Bison scored four runs in the sixth. Led by Grant Schaffner who drove in Zupko. After a wild pitch, Hunter Rhoades scored to give the Bison four runs. Black would later score Sonny Peluchetti and Schaffner would score on a wild pitch. The Bison wouldn't score again in the seventh.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Derek Black led the Bison with two RBIs.
- Payton Zupko and Grant Schaffner had one RBI each.
- Mark Lavezza was handed the loss pitching 2.0 innings.
