GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Bethany College baseball team split with Pitt-Greensburg Monday afternoon.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE)
- The Bison hit the scoreboard first after Josh Speaker hit a two-run homerun in the top of the first. Izek Baldwin drove in another Bison run to give the Green and White a 3-0 lead.
- The second inning shifted all momentum to the Bobcats. After a handful of singles and a few doubles, the Bobcats scored nine runs to take a six run lead.
- The Bison wouldn't back down. They began to chip away at the Bobcats' lead. In the top of the third, Mike Hines drove in JT Hubert on a sacrifice fly to right field. Nick Roell later drove in Izek Baldwin to cut the deficit to 9-5. After holding the Bobcats scoreless in the third, the Bison added another run in the fourth to cut the lead to three, after Hubert drove in Derek Black.
- The Bobcats were able to add an insurance run in the fourth. Bethany kept fighting with a Black single that drove in Roell.
- Unfortunately for the Bison the Bobcats had an answer for each Bison run scored in the final two innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME ONE)
- Josh Speaker led the Bison with two hits and two RBIs in game one.
- Nick Roell scored twice and had two hits.
- Izek Baldwin scored twice.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO)
- The Bobcats struck first after a runner scored on an error by the shortstop.
- Bethany responded in their next at bat. Grant Scfaffner scored after Riley Brendel grounded out to the second basemen.
- In the third inning, the Bison took the lead after Derek Black drove in Mike Hines.
- The Bobcats regained the lead in the third, with a two-run home run.
- After knotting the game at 3-3 in the fifth, the Bison took a three run lead in the seventh. A two-RBI triple by Tyler McKee wound end up being the winning runs.
- The Bobcats attempted to claw their way back, cutting the lead to one, but the Bison were able to get out of the jam.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME TWO)
- JT Hubert earned the win after pitching 3.1 innings with six strikeouts.
- Tyler McKee led the Bison with two RBIs. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.
