Baseball: Bison struggle against Gators
MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College baseball team was swept by Allegheny College Tuesday afternoon.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE)
- The Gators jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first off a wild pitch. In the third, the Gators added to their lead with an error by the catcher and a homerun.
- Trailing 3-0, the Bison looked for some offense to get them on the board. Nick Roell drove in Devin Toothman for the first and what would be the only run of the game for the Bison.
- Allegheny strung together a series of runs to take game one in seven innings over the Bison.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME ONE)
- Nick Roell had an RBI.
- Derek Black, Josh Speaker, and Devin Toothman each had one hit.
- Mark Lavezza was handed his third loss of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO)
- After a scoreless first inning, the Gators took the lead first in the second inning and doubled their lead in the bottom of the third, 2-0. Through the next three innings, the Gators continued to build on their lead and held a 6-0 lead heading into the seventh.
- Grant Schaffner homered to left field to put the Bison on the board in the seventh.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME TWO)
- Tyler McKee led the Bison with three hits.
- Nick Roell added two hits followed by Grant Schaffner and Josh Speaker with one.
