Men's Basketball Suffers Loss to Geneva

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's basketball faced the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) contest inside Hummel Field House Wednesday evening. The Golden Tornadoes defeated the Bison, 98-62. Freshmen Travis Zimmerman led the Bison with 16 points and six rebounds.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Bison started the game cold, falling behind 14-3 in the first four minutes of the game. The Green and White plugged away to cut the lead back to single digits, 16-8, after a Derek White Jr. three-pointer with just under 15 minutes to go in the half.  The Golden Tornadoes quickly responded and the Bison never saw the single-digit deficit mark again.

After a few turnovers and Geneva hitting a cold streak, Bethany began to chip at the Geneva double-digit lead in the final five minutes of play. The Bison were able to cut the deficit to 15, trailing 45-30 heading into the intermission.

The second half continued to hang in favor of the Golden Tornadoes. The Bison held within 15 points during the first 5 minutes to begin the half. Unfortunately for the Bison, the Golden Tornadoes continued to dominate and the Green and White were unable to climb back.
