Second Half Push Sends Men's Basketball to Victory Over the Tomcats
Greenville, Pa. – The Bethany College men's basketball traveled north for a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Thiel College Tomcats Wednesday evening. The Bison battled in the second half for a come from behind 78-75 victory over the Tomcats. Sophomore Brendan Riggs led the Bison with 23 points with seven made three-pointers. Dalton Hamrick added 22 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Tomcats led for most of the first half. The Bison trailed by as many as 13 points but battled to stay alive heading into the break, down 39-28.
Bethany opened the second half with an 11-0 run to deadlock the game at 39-39. The Bison and Tomcats battled back and forth until Thiel took a run of their own and built a 72-63 lead with 3:05 left in the game. The Bison hit back-to-back-to-back three's that led to the Green and White knotting the game at 72-72. An Asa Klimchock go-ahead three-pointer with 1:08 remaining. The Bison held onto the lead in the final minute. A key component to the Bison's victory was the hot shooting from behind the arc. Bethany shot 72% (13-18) from behind the arc in the second half.
