Men's Basketball: Second Half Surge Lifts Wolverines Over Bison

Grove City, Pa. – The Bethany College men's basketball traveled north for a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Grove City College Wolverines. The Wolverines defeated the Bison, 86-64. Dalton Hamrick had 24 points for the Bison.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Wolverines jumped out to a 7-0 start before Dalton Hamrick hit a three to put the Bison on the board. Minutes later the Bison took a 13-11 lead after a Brendan Riggs three-pointer. The Green and White continued to build a lead, 18-14, with another Riggs' jumper from behind the arc. Grove City battled back and cut the Bison lead to 20-19. The Wolverines took a 25-23 lead with under six minutes to go.

Asa Klimchock hit a three to put the Bison ahead 26-25, with 4:10 to go. The Wolverines and Bison continued to battle. A pair of Derek White Jr. free-throws, pulled the Bison to 33-28. The Bison held the lead heading into the break.

In the second half the Wolverines hit a three climb back. The three ignited a 24-4 run to open up the half. The deficit was too much for the Bison to overcome.

The Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament begins on March 13-20. All schools able to participate in the championship tournament will be seeded. The championship tournament will feature a first round, quarterfinal round, semifinal round and title game.
