Prior to the season being interrupted, how was the year going - what was the team's expectations and goals?

I think for the indoor season we exceeded what ours and everyone else's expectations by everyone showing up at PACs and completely kicking butt in all of our events and everywhere you looked we were filling the podium with someone. The goal was to prove to everyone in the conference that we could compete and we did just that by taking home multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals home with us. In outdoor a lot of us had eyes on school records and more medals at PACs.

What are your personal career goals? Jobs, internships, interests moving forward?

My personal goals are to try out for any football league I can but if that doesn't work I'm fine with that because I also want to become a personal trainer and a football coach and to be able to connect with people on a personal level by having the best relationships with people I can.

Do you have any advice for your younger teammates or recruits that are looking at coming to Bethany?

If you really want something you have to work for it. You don't know how many times I've heard someone say "oh I want to be the champion at this event" but doesn't put in the work for it and get mad when the results don't go their way. You have to set the bar high and not get scared to go past it once you reach that goal. You have to break through it and achieve what no one else thought you could and that's what competitive excellence is. You have to be willing to go the extra mile on the track, in the weight room, on the field. When everybody else is done for the day you have to be thinking, ok what can I do next. What's going to get me to my goal because that pillow isn't or that TV isn't. You have to tell yourself ok one more rep and when you hit that rep you have to say it again and keep going. You have to be scared to fail because that's what I am. I AM SCARED TO FAIL. I was down once my sophomore year to out of shape, lazy and a whole bunch of crap but all it takes is a change of mindset and once I got to where I am now I can promise you no one will out work me because I'm that guy that's in the gym doing one more rep than you, I will be the one that does more than the rest because that fear of failing drives me. Now I'm here to say let it drive you.

What has it meant to you being a Bison?

At first maybe not a lot but now that I spent my time there with some incredible people, and amazing coaches it means the world.

Who has supported you during your time as a student-athlete?

All of my coaches and my friends that go to Bethany. Also my parents, my parents are a big part the always go out of their way to fly from Houston to Bethany to go to as many football games and track events that I compete in.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 spring sports to be cancelled. Bethany College wants to thank all of our seniors for representing the Bison in a positive manner and for all their hard work and dedication over their careers at Bethany.
