Women's Soccer: Keelan's Hat Trick Headlines 7-1 Win Over Defiance

BETHANY, W.Va.  – After ending their season opener in a draw the Bethany College women's soccer team has cruised to four straight wins after defeating Defiance College Sunday afternoon, 7-1.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Bison struck early scoring twenty-nine seconds into the match off the foot of Jada Benjamin.
  • Bethany's offense continued to stay hot scoring the second goal of the match at the 2:13 mark. Brooke Fuleki scored off of a Monica Bird assist.
  • Morgan Keelan earned her first hat trick of the season scoring three of the Bison seven goals. Her first came at the 6:27 mark of the first half and scored her second two minutes later.
  • The Yellow Jackets were able to find the back of the net shortly before the first half expired. Bethany led 4-1 at the break.
  • Keelan's goal to begin the second half extended the Bison lead 5-1.
  • Mary Marshall joined the scoring party, scoring the final two goals of the match.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • The Bison held the advantage on shots,  27-5.
  • Corrine Grabow earned the win registering two saves.
