Women's Soccer: Marshall and Keelan Earn Hat-Tricks in Bison win over Lions

BETHANY, W.Va.  – The Bethany College women's soccer team cruised to a 12-0 non-conference victory against Penn State-Beaver Monday afternoon.   

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jada Benjamin put the Bison on the board in the first 1:21 of the game.
  • Bethany scored their second goal in the 15th minute after Shunnye Christopher found Mary Marshall to give the Bison a 2-0 lead.
  • Mary Marshall earned her second goal of the game a minute later to give Bethany a 3-0 lead.
  • In the 22nd minute, Morgan Keelan scored her first goal of the match after Brooke Fuleki found a cutting Keelan.
  • Morgan Keelan scored the Bison's next two goals in the 29th minute and 32nd minute to earn her second hat trick of the season.
  • Bethany's Lauren Cooper and Grace Schweickert both earned goals before the end of the first half.
  • The Bison led 8-0 at the half.
  • The Green and White scored four goals in the second half, two goals were PSU-Beaver own goals. Jailyn Aviles and Mary Marshall both scored for the Bison in the second half.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • The Bison held the shot advantage, 46-0.
  • Bethany's Mary Marshall and Morgan Keelan both earned hat tricks.
  • The Bison took 14 corner kicks.
