Softball Splits on Day Two of Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fl.- The Bethany College softball team continued play at The Spring Games Tuesday afternoon. Bethany first faced Wittenberg to begin the day. The Bison used a three run sixth inning to come from behind for the 7-6 win. In game two, Bethany faced Meredith. The Green and White fell, 7-6 to the Avenging Angels in the seventh inning on a walk off.

Game One Overview

Bethany Edges Wittenburg, 7-6   

The Bison trailed 1-0 after the first inning. In the bottom of the third, Kathleen Fuchs hit a sacrifice fly to score Gabriella Capaldi to knot the game a 1-1. Heading into their at bats in the fifth inning, Bethany trailed 6-2. Tyra Bell went yard to cut the lead to 6-4. In the sixth inning the Green and White tacked on three runs to complete the comeback. A Tatum Barrass double scored Kathleen Fuchs and Lauren Maichle.

Game Two Overview
Bethany fall in the seventh inning to Meredith, 7-6  

The Avenging Angels jumped out to a 6-0 lead after five innings. A six run sixth inning for the Bison would give the Green and White the lead heading into the seventh inning. Unfortunelty Meredith would hold Bethany scoreless in the seventh. The Avenging Angels would capitalize on getting a runner in scoring position to seal the win.
