Bethany Names Chelsey Fletcher Ph.D as New Faculty Athletics Representative

Bethany, W.Va. – Bethany College Director of Athletics Jill Willson announced the appointment of Dr. Chelsey Fletcher as the Bethany College Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) following the retirement of Dr. John Hull.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Chelsey Fletcher joining us as our Faculty Athletics Representative. Her predecessors have done a phenomenal job of being a sounding board for our student-athletes and we know that she will continue to build relentlessly on the work they have done over the years" said Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success, Meighan Julbert. "Her dedication to her teaching, our student-athletes, and this institution was evident from day one and I cannot wait to see the innovation and passion she will bring to our athletics department in this position."

"As the next Faculty Athletic Representative, I am excited to advocate for our student-athletes academic needs while maintaining Bethany College's high academic standards" said Dr. Fletcher. "This opportunity blesses me with the opportunity to combine my two passions: higher education instruction and athletic administration collaboration."

Dr. Fletcher is Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Sport Management, Department Chair at Bethany. She holds a Ph.D in Instructional Management and Leadership. Her dissertation was the Underrepresentation of Women in Secondary Athletic Administration: A Study of the Impediments of Women to Be Successful Athletic Administrators.

Dr. Fletcher is also the Volleyball Commissioner for the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
