Meintel Selected to Attend NCAA Career in Sports Forum

BETHANY, W.Va. - Bethany College graduate, Kelsie Meintel (Moundsville, W.Va. | Cameron) was selected as one of 200 student-athletes to participate in the 2022 Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis from June 2-5.

"During my time at the Career in Sport Forum I made valuable connections with so many student athletes across the country" said Meintel. "Being exposed to such diverse populations of student-athletes, sharing an interest in athletics was eye opening and will help me further my career down the road."

Meintel had the privilege of participating in the three-day NCAA-sponsored forum which helps student-athletes chart their career paths, network with and learn from current athletics professionals and to learn about and explore potential careers in sports, particularly college athletics. Through panels, engaging breakout discussions, keynote presentations and facilitated dialogues, program participants like Meintel will walk away from the experience with a thorough understanding of athletics as a career path and where to fit into the industry's landscape.

"I also enjoyed hearing from keynote speakers elaborate on topics like strengths and weaknesses, being in the moment, utilizing resources, executive image, and developing professionally" added Meintel. "The NCAA provided many opportunities to explore internships, graduate positions, and jobs across different departments within athletics. I can confidently say I am walking away from CSF with a plethora of knowledge as well as lifelong connections."

Those chosen must be in their third year or above and nominated by their school or conference. They also must have participated in an NCAA-sponsored sport during the school year.

Meintel, graduated in May with bachelor in science degree in psychology and posted a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She earned a spot on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll and was named Bethany's PAC Scholar-Athlete of the year.

The Moundsville, W.Va. native was a member of the women's basketball and track and field teams.
