Goodnight, McClinton Named Athletes of the Year

The Bethany College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee honored their own Sunday in the annual Bison Awards inside the Hummel Fieldhouse. 

Graduate softball player Destiny Goodnight and sophomore track & field athlete Caliyph McClinton were named the Female and Male Athletes of the Year.  

Goodnight, who is the program's all-time stolen base leader, leads the Presidents' Athletic Conference with 57 hits and is fourth in the conference with a .435 batting average. She is second in the conference with 43 runs scored and 34 stolen bases.  

McClinton, the fastest man in Bison history, currently leads the PAC and is second in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the 100m with a time of 10.49 seconds. He also holds the school record in the 200m with a time of 21.47, which was ranked as high as 20th nationally. McClinton holds the school record in the 300m as well, along with anchoring the 2024 PAC champion 4x100 team. In the PAC indoor championships, McClinton anchored the 4x400 team that finished second.
