Football: Titans cruise past Bison

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College football team traveled to Westminster College for a PAC matchup Saturday afternoon. The Titans cruised to a 42-7 victory over the Bison.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Titans found the endzone on their first drive of the game in ten plays.
  • The Bison started their first drive with back-to-back gains. On the third play of the drive in Titan territory, Tim Mickens completed a pass from Kayrus Sam for 10-yards, however he would then fumble the ball which would be recovered by the Titans.
  • Westminster would then score 35 points to take a commanding lead over Bethany.
  • The Bison would find the end zone in the fourth quarter after Luke Hilyard would rush for eight yards to get the Bison on the board.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • (231) – Bethany was held to just 231 yards of offense with 133 yards rushing.
  • (55%) – The Titans went 6-for-11 on third down while the Bison were held to 3-for-13.

LEADERS

  • Miles Goffe totaled 61 yards.
  • Kayrus Sam and Goffe both had five completions.
  • Goffe led the rushing game with 32 yards on six attempts.
  • Jacob Munoz had five completions for 60 yards.
  • Defensively, Dadrick Vickers led the Bison with 11 tackles (7 solo). Vickers had one tackle for loss and one forced fumble. Amarion Williams led the Bison with 1.5 tackles for loss.

Bethany returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 when they host Carnegie Mellon in a PAC matchup on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium for a 1 pm kickoff.
