Huntingdon, PA – The Bethany College men's basketball team suffers a 71-58 non-conference loss to Juniata in day two of the Juniata College tournament sponsored by Comfort Inn. Junior Trey Shifflett (York, Pa/William Penn) led the Bison with 24 points. The green and white are now 1-10 (0-3) while Juniata heads to 5-6.
1st- Bethany started the game with a pair of free throws from Junior Trey Shifflett. The Eagles took a 6-2 lead before a three from Shifflett, bringing the Bison within one. A trey from Khalil Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa/Woodland Hills) tied the game at 8-8. The Bison and Eagles traded baskets back and forth throughout the first half. There were six different occasions the game was tied. Bethany scored 10 of their 32 points from the foul line. The Bison shot 34.8% (8-23) compared to the Eagles 50% (16-32) and only trailed by eight at the half.
2nd- The Bison tried to chip away at the Eagles' lead throughout the second quarter. Junior Aiden Albert (Saxonburg, Pa/Knoch) hit a jumper to cut the lead back to nine, 43-34. However the Eagles came down and hit back to back threes bringing the lead back to 15. A shot from Shifflett behind the arc and a foul shot cut the lead to eight with 9:34 left in the game. The Eagles would lead by as many as 13 throughout the second half, ending the game 71-58.

• Freshman Derek White Jr. (Portsmouth, VA / Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) added a career high 14 points, going 7-8 from the charity stripe and blocking three Eagle shots
• The Bison were out rebounded 42-32. Aiden Albert led the team with six rebounds, while White Jr. grabbed five
• The green and white dished out 13 assists on 16 made field goals. White Jr. contributed four of the 13 assists
