Men's Basketball suffers loss to Geneva

Beaver Falls, Pa- The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Geneva, 63-56, Friday evening. The Bison were led by Allayasa Bray with 15 points. With the loss, the green and white fall to 2-16 (1-8), while Geneva is now 7-10 (4-5).

GAME OVERVIEW
1st – Bison got on the board first with a pair of free throws coming from Khalil Wilson. Carter Adams knotted the game at 4-4. The Golden Tornadoes answered with a bucket of their own pulling them ahead. Moments later, Derek White Jr. knotted the game at 6-6. The Bison took the lead with a Malik Ellis jumper and a Logan Wolverton layup, 15-10. The green and white grew the lead eight before the Golden Tornadoes climbed back, taking the lead 23-22, at the 3:36 mark. Bethany and Geneva went neck and neck to close out the half. Geneva led 29-27.

2nd- Geneva struck first in the second half, pulling ahead 35-27. The Bison began to chip away at the deficit, with a Dylan Furlong layup, but the green and white saw the deficit grow to 14 before answering back. Back to back threes from Logan Wolverton and Allayasa Bray cut the lead to single digits, 45-37, with 10:08 to go in the second half. Adams' jumper brought the Bison within seven, 46-39, with under eight minutes to go. The Bison and Golden Tornadoes battled back and forth, with Geneva maintaining the lead. The green and white were able to capitalize off of the Golden Tornadoes turnovers in the final minute of play, but fell short of the comeback. A three from Adams' brought Bethany within four, 60-54, with: 18 seconds left. Geneva was able to pull away with foul shots down the final stretch.

IN THE BOX SCORE
• Allayasa Bray led the Bison with 15 points and grabbing six rebounds
• Carter Adams had a career high 13 points and a team high three steals
• Bethany pulled in 40 rebounds in the contest. Khalil Wilson grabbed a team high eight rebounds
• Malik Ellis contributed eight points and hauled in six boards
• Logan Wolverton added seven points
• Bethany had 15 second chance points and capitalized 17 points off of 14 Geneva turnovers
• The green and white went 6-8 from the charity stripe while Geneva went 20-28
