Men's Basketball: Cold Shooting Plagues Bison in Loss to Wolverines

Drew VonScio, Student Assistant for Athletic Communications

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Bethany men's basketball team looked to build on Saturday's strong performance against Chatham tonight against Grove City College. Despite the offense working well over the weekend, an inability to convert shots cost the Bison a win as they fell to the Wolverines, 57-36.

Cole Dailey opened the Green and White scoring with a layup early in the opening frame, and he would score the next point courtesy of a free throw. Julian McGee tacked on a layup of his own, but Bethany was already chasing at that point. Chance Wells contributed with a layup of his own late in the half as Dailey would go on to score seven of the mere 11 points from the Bison offense heading into the break.

The second half didn't fare much better for the visitors as Dailey yet again put the offense on his back and scored the first points of the second stanza. Wells got some momentum going midway through the half as he tucked in a layup and floated a jumper. With just over seven minutes to go, Bethany finally started to build some momentum offensively, but the damage was already done. Troy Hixson and Quinn Hiles combined for a trio of free throws along with a pair of layups from Da'Shan Clark. Tyler Kytta saw some last minutes and added five points of his own in the loss.

Dailey led the Bison with 11 points and seven rebounds. Bethany shot just 26.3% from the field, including 1-for-25 from outside the arc. The Bison come back home on Tuesday, December 13, for a 5:00 P.M. tip-off against Westminster.
