Drew VonScio, Student Assistant for Athletic Communications

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Looking to bounce back after Wednesday night's home loss against Grove City, the Bison went on the road to take on Westminster. Despite improving in the second half, Bethany fell away from home 87-69.

The Titans opened the contest on an early 5-0 run that was quickly erased by a pair of three-pointers from Chance Wells and Troy Hixson. Westminster then responded with two layups and a free throw before Hixson stayed hot from behind the arc to cut the deficit down to a point. The Bison quickly went in front by two after a layup from Quinn Hiles and a three-point play from Tony Fox. Westminster went on an even bigger run, in the form of 9-0, to grab a seven-point advantage. Chance Wright connected from distance after several minutes of a scoring drought to cut the deficit down to four. Cole Dailey posted a layup late in the half before Tyler Kytta drained a triple to take Westminster's lead down to five. With under two-and-a-half minutes left in the opening frame, Hixson stayed hot again from outside the arc as he posted another three. Kytta added another one with 33 seconds left as Bethany went into the break trailing by eight points.

The Titans opened the second half by posting the first four points to lead by a dozen before Hixson added two more points. Under two minutes into the second half, Dailey drained a three that got the visitors within 10. The Bison fought hard and got the host's lead down to seven as Fox and Hixson posted threes. Wright was able to keep it within eight with a triple of his own before the Titans quickly went up by as many as 21 which sealed the deal. The Green and White continued to compete as Da'Shan Clark added a layup. Westminster went up as many as 25 before Bethany went on an 8-1 run to close out the game with threes from Dawson Troyer and Brendan Riggs along with a layup from Julian McGee.

Hixson led the Bison with 14 points, and Wells was right behind him with 12. Dailey paced the Green and White with a team-leading five rebounds. Bethany returns to action Wednesday night in Steubenville, Ohio to take on Franciscan. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
