
Men's Swimming & Diving Predicted Seventh in Preseason Poll
NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania - The Bethany College men's swim team was picked to finish seventh in the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) preseason poll, in a vote of the conference coaches, the league announced today (October 4th, 2024).
"We have athletes that are returning to the water after some time off," said Head Swimming and Diving Coach Jeani Humpe. "I'm excited to see what they can contribute being back in our own pool this year!"
Bethany collected 36 points, placing them last out of seven teams voted upon.
Six-time repeating champs Grove City was selected to take home the crown once more. They received six first place votes en route to leading the pack with 66 points.
Saint Vincent was selected as the pre-season runner ups with 59 points. However, it was Washington and Jefferson who received the one remaining first place vote. They finished third with 56 points.
The Presidents were followed by last year's runner up Westminster (53),Allegheny (45), Chatham (42), and BETHANY (36).
The Bison have already hit the water at the West Virginia State Games. This will be a multiple day event that starts today and ends tomorrow evening. The events in both sessions will be held at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va.
SWIMMER TO WATCH:
Senior Francisco Rameriz:
Rameriz will compete in a multitude of events for the Bison this season. He specializes in the backstroke. However, Rameriz will compete in the individual medley, showing that he is capable of swimming whatever style best suits him for that day.
