Women's Basketball: Wheeler Earns PAC Rookie of the Week

Greenville, Pa. - Bethany College freshman guard Ashleigh Wheeler was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week for her performance last week.

Wheeler averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game last week to help Bethany secure a pair of PAC victories. In Wednesday's 70-33 win at Franciscan, she finished with five points, eight rebounds, four assists and five steals.

The Quaker City, Ohio native, Wheeler scored a career-high 24 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals in Saturday's 73-70 win over Grove City. She went 7-of-15 from the floor and knocked down all six free throw attempts. Wheeler is averaging 12.8 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 steals per game this season.

The weekly laurel is the first for Wheeler this season.

The Bison return to action on Tuesday, December 6, when they host Juniata College in a non-conference contest at 6 pm inside Hummel Field House.
