Women's Basketball: Garrison Earns D3Hoops.com All-Region 7 Co-Rookie of the Year
Bethany, W.Va. – Bethany College freshman women's basketball player Lindsey Garrison earned All-Region 7 Co-Rookie of the Year along with Third Team recognition Tuesday morning from D3Hoops.com in recognition for her overall performance during the 2021-22 season.
Garrison appeared in all 26 games while starting 25 and finished the season with 425 total points. Her 16.3 points per game ranked as third-best in the league. She scored 30 or more points twice and scored 20-plus points nine times this season including a game-high 39 points in Bethany's 72-51 win over Waynesburg on Jan. 20.
She led the PAC in free throw percentage (.876, 78-89), three-point field goal percentage (.377, 75-199) and made three-point field goals (75). Garrison also ranked third among conference counterparts in minutes played, averaging 32.8 per game.
Garrison established two school records this season. She drained nine three's against Penn. State-New Kensington to set the program record for most made three pointers in a game. Her total of 75 made three pointers this season set a program record for most made three pointers in a season. Both records were previously held by Hayley Holenka ('17).
Garrison earned PAC Newcomer of the Year and was also named an All-PAC First-Team selection. She is Bethany's first D3Hoops.com All-Region recognition since Jenny Place (05-06) and Kelly Richardson (03-04).
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection.
This is the 21st year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 25th annual All-Ameircan selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
