Murray wins 500 meters as Bison compete at Wuske Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio (Feb. 3) - Led by a first-place finish by senior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) in the 500-meter dash, the Bison men's track & field team competed at the Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational Saturday.
Murray posted a time of one minute, 7.60 seconds to cross the tape first in the 500-meter dash. Murray, who has already established an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying time in the 800 meters, also was a part of the distance medley relay team that took second place overall. Murray teamed up with junior Jordan Castro (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua), sophomore Jabari Williams (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) and freshman Andrew Weiss (Washington, Pa./Linsly School (W.Va.)) to take second place with a time of 11 minutes, 21.57 seconds.
Weiss on his own turned in a solid time in the 5,000-meter run, placing fourth overall with a time of 16 minutes, 32.57 seconds.
Freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison) established a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 6.25 inches (6.56 meters).
Sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) recorded a pair of top-10 places on the day. He took eighth in the high jump, clearing six feet (1.83 meters) and claimed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 9.25 inches (6.33 meters).
The Bison track team will return to Ohio on a short week when they head to Berea for the Baldwin Wallace Mid-February Meet on Friday, February 9.
