Bison men take part in Kenyon Classic

GAMBIER, Ohio (Feb. 17) - The Bethany College men's track & field team competed at the Kenyon Open Saturday afternoon in preparation for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships later this week.

Junior Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) won both the triple jump and the long jump at the event. He won the long jump with a mark of 6.69 meters and also earned medalist honors in the triple jump with a jump of 13.42 meters. Sallah-Mohammed also added a third place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.88 meters.

Senior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) placed second overall in the 400-meter run, crossing the tape in 51.56 seconds.

Junior Jordan Castro (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) finished sixth in the one-mile run, establishing a time of four minutes, 34.48 seconds.

Also claiming top-10 finishes in the field events were senior Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) and freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison). Hunkins claimed sixth place in the shot put with a heave of 12.75 meters, while Speedy finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.01 meters.

The entire Bethany men's indoor track and field team will be in competition at the annual PAC Championships on Thursday, February 22 in Youngstown, Ohio at the WATTS Training Facility.
