Bison men have strong showing at BW Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio (Feb. 9) - Led by a pair of victories by sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military), the Bison had a solid showing at the Baldwin Wallace Mid-February Meet Friday.

Sallah-Mohammed won both the triple and long jumps at the event. He recorded a mark of 13.08 meters in the triple jump and won the long jump with a distance of 6.79 meters.

Senior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills), the reigning PAC Athlete of the Week, had another great day on the track. He broke the school record in the 800 meters with a time of one minute, 53.96 seconds to place second overall. His converted time of one minutes, 53.34 seconds ranks 11th overall in NCAA Division III this season.

Junior Byron Mayers (Brownsville, Pa./Brownsville) finished fourth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.85 seconds, while freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison) placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 6.24 meters.

The Bison men's track & field team returns to competition next Saturday, February 17 when they head to Gambier, Ohio and the Kenyon Invitational.
