Six Bison men place in top-10 at Westminster Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 14) - Six members of the Bethany College men's track & field team placed in the top-10 of their events at the Westminster Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Bison finished seventh overall in the event which featured athletes from over 20 different institutions. 

Junior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) won the 800-meter run with a time of one minute, 57.08 seconds, his fastest time this outdoor season in the event.

Sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) won both the triple and long jumps at the event. He established a distance of 14.29 meters (46 feet, 10.5 inches) in the triple jump and finished with a mark of 7.04 meters (23 feet, one inch) in the long jump (wind aided).

Freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison) placed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.80 meters (22 feet, three inches)

Senior Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) took sixth place in the shot put with a distance of 13.53 meters.

Senior Ed Maxwell (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.66 seconds.

Senior Donald Bierhals (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) finished 10th overall in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the tape in four minutes, 19.96 seconds.

Bethany's 4x400-meter relay team finished eighth out of 26 in the event. The team of Maxwell, Murray, Bierhals and sophomore Jabari Williams (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) finished with a time of three minutes, 31 seconds flat to establish a new season-best in the event for the team.

The Bison will host the "Bethany Mini Meet" this Wednesday, April 18 as a final tune-up for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships which will be held at Westminster later this month.
