Swimming and Diving drops meet with Baldwin-Wallace

Oct. 29 - BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany swimming and diving team dropped their first home meet of the season to Baldwin Wallace. The men's team lost 77-61, while the women lost 104-58.

For the women, Christine Pray (Canton, Mich./Canton) came in first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12 minutes, 12.55 seconds. In the 50-yard freestyle, Alaina Geer (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) came in first with a time of 27.36 seconds. Geer also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of one minute. 

The Bethany women's 200-yard relay team of MacKenzie Bosley (Buckhannon, W. Va./Upshur), Julianna Libengood (New Stanton, Pa./Hempfield), Pray, and Geer took first with a time of two minutes, 11.97 seconds.

On the men's side, Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) placed first in the 1000-yard and five-yard freestyles with times of 10 minutes, 17.63 seconds and four minutes, 58.80 seconds, respectively. 

Cameron Deitch (Fishers, Ind./Fishers ) took first in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke with times of two minutes, 27.54 seconds and one minute, 9.41 seconds, while Chandler Chafins (East Liverpool, Pa./Beaver) also finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of one minute, 7.19 seconds.

Kerry Kerr (Atlanta, Ga./Archer) participated in the one-meter dive and finished with a score of 127.85.

The Bison men's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kerr, Deitch, Chafins, and Stresky came in first with a time of one minute, 45.31 seconds.

Bethany is back in the pool when it hosts Penn State-Altoona on Friday, November 4 at 5 p.m.
